Butterflies Finished!!!

I finally finished the Butterflies last Saturday.  It took me one week to finish the backstitching.  Maybe I should start searching the net for backstitching tips and techniques because I can't help it, most of my kits and some of my patterns require that dreadful stitch!  It's not the backstitches that outline the object that bother me, I can do that easily.  It's the one inside the object for the details that repelled me.  Anyway, here's the photo of the finished Butterflies.

Now have to go to the framer so I can give this to my friend soon.

Thanks for reading and have a nice week everyone!

My Golden Kite Patterns

Last week, I've been in panic mode after learning from our local needlecraft stores that DMC will increase the prices of their threads come February.  I've got some Golden Kite (GK) patterns and other BAP charts that I want to kit-up and those who are familiar with Golden Kite knows how big their charts are and require many colors and skeins of DMC threads.  By the way, Golden Kite is my favorite when it comes to BAPs.  They do excellent work on charting paintings and masterpieces, thus justifying the price of their patterns.  And the photos on their site of finished projects will show you that every pattern is a piece of art.  Add to that is the good customer service of the owner, Marcus.  He replies promptly whenever you send an email or query.

Here are photos of some of my Golden Kite patterns that I need to kit-up, hopefully, soon.  I will post again some time in the future photos of some of my GK patterns that have already threads and fabrics.  All photos are from www.goldenkitestore.com with links provided.  Sorry I feel so lazy to take photos of my purchased patterns.

In The Mountains
This is one of my favorite GK patterns that I have.  I will be doing this (and the following two patterns) on 18count Aida so the finished size will be 23.8 by 15.7 inches.  After I count and buy the threads, I will post again how many skeins needed.

Autumn On The Wissahickon
Another favorite!  I love the soft hues of this one.  It is a bit bigger than In the Mountains, with the finished size of  33.3 by 21.1 inches.

On The Saco
Oh, another favorite!  Aren't they all my favorites!  The finished size of this is 33.3 by 22.6 inches, a bit similar with Autumn On The Wissahickon.  The reason why I haven't kitted them up is because I ordered them later than the others.

That's all for now, have to go to count and list all the threads that needs to be bought!

Thanks for reading and have a nice week everyone!

Butterflies as of today

This will be a short, just to post my progress on Butterflies.  All the cross stitching are done, it's only the backstitching that keeps me from finishing it.  Oh well, but I really need to finish this soon as I will be giving this to a dear friend this February.

Okay, got to go now back to my stitching!  :-)

Some More Stitching Goals

Though my goal for this year is to finish some of my UFOs, I think it's a MUST that I should finish all of my WIPs.  I have three, two small and a BAP.

Butterflies
I am going to give this to a friend and I have set a deadline that I should finish it this January.  But it has so many backstitches that I know I will dread doing.  Let's see if I can be a good girl and meet my deadline.

Morning Lake

This is how it should look when finished:

My progress

Homebound
This is a cross stitch conversion of a masterpiece painted in 1936.  You can see the details of the painting here.  The pattern has a different title than the painting.  I am doing this on 16-count Aida and the finished size will be 26.25 inches x 20.125 inches.  It consist of 12 pages of pattern, A3 size.  It has 48 colors of DMC threads and total skeins of 200.

Here's my progress
I am hoping that I can finish it this year.  I will try to follow this stitching schedule:

Monday to Friday - WIPs
Saturday and Sunday - UFOs

Right now, I am doing my best not to start another pattern or kit, though so many are calling my name.  I really, really wanted to trim down my UFOs and finish all my WIPs.

That's all for now.  Have to go and clean these:

Wish List (7-10)

Been meaning to post my progress on Butterflies today but got sidetracked with errands and was not able to take picture, so again for the meantime, another round of wish list.  All photos are courtesy of www.123stitch.com.

Make My Friends Fat

I love, love this design.  I actually regretted that I did not include this in my previous orders with 123stitch.

Stitching Goals

I don't do new year's resolutions, but I will be setting some stitching goals this year.  There are some UFOs that I would really like to finish, and hopefully I can complete one or two of the following:

Memory Lane

Here's what it will look like if finished (this photo courtesy of abullrun):

And here's my progress (I started this maybe some time 1999, tho I am not so sure):

Memory Lane is what really hooked me on cross stitching.  I saw a finished project of this in Dreams Yarnshoppe and the rest is history.  Now, I have more than enough charts and kits that I know will need a lifetime or two to finish them all.  But sadly, I still haven't finished my Memory Lane.

Floral Splendor

My progress (I started this some time early 2000):

Hometown Memories by Thomas Kincaide

My progress (I also started this some time in 2000):

I am not sure if I can finish them all specially that I have three WIPs on-going, but I will do my best to complete even one.

Thanks for reading and take care everyone!

Wish List (4-6)

There's been so much in my mind that I wanted to write about.  But right now, I can't remember them, so for the meantime, here's one more round of wish list.  All photos this time are courtesy of abullrun.  I love ordering from them because they have free shipping on orders of $60 or more.  I just wish they have more choices like 123stitch have.

Cabin Fever

 Mother

Treasured Friend

Cabin fever has been in my wish list for quite some time.  Sadly, when I ordered it last time, it was not in stock.  Hopefully, next time I order from them they will have it.

That's all for now and thanks for reading.  Take care everyone!
